Nuns' Welfare Foundation of Nepal support a musical program titled "Apanga Prativha Gaayan Pratiyogita" organized by MRDF (Music Reserch and Development Forum) on 28th of March 2009 by sponsoring the prize money in the various categories.
The program was held at Nepal Sanskriti Sabha (popularly known as Devkota Bhawan), Dilibazaar, Kathmandu, where aspiring musicians were given the opportunity to display their musical talents. The finale of the singing competition was reached after a series of knock out rounds and selection by judges. The recipients were Mr. Ramesh Rai, who bagged a purse of Rs. 10,000.00 for being the winner; Mr. Dhirendra Biswakarma was awarded Rs. 3,000.00 for securing the position of first runner up, Mr. Neeraj Ale bagged the second runner up spot for which he was awarded Rs. 2,000.00. A purse of Rs. 5,000.00 was distributed to the participants as consolation prizes for participation.
